東日本大震災から3年経った2014年、初めて被災地を訪ねたときに、

「子供たちに何かできないか」という思いで始まったのが、このプロジェクトです。

 

“音楽家”は、まだ使用できる弦でも、本番のタイミングに合わせて新しいものと張り替えることが多々あり、音楽家の楽器を調整している楽器屋さんには、張り替えたあとの弦が、

たくさんあります。

そのような、まだ使える弦（これを私たちは「新古弦」と呼んでいます）を集めて子どもたちに

使ってもらおう、というのが、このプロジェクトのアイディアです。”使用済み”といえども、

サビてしまった弦を使うよりも良い音を奏でることができるでしょう。

 

楽器の状態が向上することで、子どもたちの音楽活動がより一層、

楽しく刺激的なものになるよう、私たちは願っています。

 

 

The idea of this project, to do something for the children, came to life in 2014, three years after the Tohoku earthquake disaster in Japan. 

 

Those who works as "musicians" with stringed instruments often changes strings to new ones before a performance, even though the "old" strings can be still used. At music shops, they happne to have quite a lot of those "still usable" strings. 

Our idea is to collect those used strings and send them to the children who suffered from the earthquake. Although they are "used" strings, they still are qood quality and possibly even create better sound than worn out strings. 

 

By keeping musical instruments in good condition, we hope this project will encourage all young people to enjoy music.
